A/D Smallpipes

Scottish Smallpipes

These have long since become the pipes of choice for Highland Pipers looking for an indoor instrument. Fingered the same as highland pipes, Scottish Smallpipes are mellower, with more buzz -- a joy to play for hours at a time.

All our pipe chanters play cane reeds developed to be robust sounding without being hard to play. The drones can be set up with cane or composite reeds, both made in house. All chanters are tied in using split stocks with built in reed protectors. Sets are available in A, Bb, D, or C.

Combination sets are also available. Our A/D combination sets, with four drones and two chanters, are very popular. If you're looking for a "super set", we now make an A/D/C set which only needs four drones to play in all three keys.

All sets are played with bellows.
